When we first met Bitupon Saikia, a Class X student from Guwahati Refinery Higher Secondary School, his teachers had many concerns. They said he was not interested in studies and rarely paid attention in class. Coming from a family facing acute financial hardship and having fallen into the wrong company, Bitupon had gone astray. His parents, too, had little hope for his HSLC exams.
Seeing his situation, VbE's Senior Coordinator, Kinkar Borah, and Field Coordinator, Rashmirekha Sharma, decided to visit his home and talk to him personally. Through open conversations and patient listening, they helped him understand the importance of education and believing in himself. They kept in touch with him, monitored his progress, and encouraged him regularly.
Slowly, things began to change. Bitupon started focusing on his studies and took his exams seriously. The real joy came when, after the HSLC results were declared, he called our Senior Coordinator to share the happy news that he had passed with good marks and is now pursuing his Higher Secondary studies successfully.
It was a proud and emotional moment for everyone at ADI and Guwahati Refinery School. Bitupon%u2019s journey shows how care, guidance, and consistent support can bring light to a young life that once seemed lost.
